What’s the Carbon Footprint of My Meal?

May 25 @ 19:00 - 20:00

Climate change is closely tied to our food system: what we eat impacts the climate and the climate in turn impacts what we eat. There is a growing conversation locally and globally around determining the “carbon footprint” of the food we eat, meaning the amount of greenhouse gases that given foods release (directly or indirectly), contributing to climate change. But how, as residents, can we figure out what food choices have the smallest carbon footprint?

Join the Bow Valley Climate Action Society on Wednesday May 25th at 7:00pm for the webinar “What’s the Carbon Footprint of My Meal?” to delve into this fascinating and nuanced topic. This interactive webinar will be an opportunity to hear from experts on how we can reduce the climate implications of our food choices, participate in some online trivia, and have a chance to ask all your questions around the carbon footprint of your food, from how it is grown to how it gets disposed!

Please register in advance for this free webinar here:

If you are unable to attend this webinar, it will also be recorded and uploaded to our Youtube and Facebook, for viewing after the event.

This event is being put together by the the Bow Valley Climate Action Society, thanks to gracious funding from the Banff Canmore Community Foundation, the Town of Banff, and the Town of Canmore.
