BVCA Submissions for the Proposed TSMV ASPs

March 1, 2021
Bow Valley Climate Action regarding the Area Structure Plan for Three Sister’s Mountain Village

The Area Structure Plans (ASP) proposed by Three Sisters Mountain Village (TSMV) will have a significant impact on the ability of the Town of Canmore, to meet the goals in the Climate Action Plan approved in 2018. Therefore Bow Valley Climate Action submitted a statement in which we laid out our concerns and gave recommendations how the ASPs could be amended to alleviate these. Our position is that TSMV should redesign both ASPs in order for them to better align with the Town’s Climate Action Plan. BVCA also urges the Town of Canmore to review and amend its Land Use Bylaw to better align all development within the Town, including that proposed by Three Sisters Mountain Village, to meet the goals in the Town’s Climate Action Plan.

Attached are our statements regarding both ASPs that were submitted to the Town of Canmore.
