March Climate Action! … Indoors!
What better way to beat the cold weather, social distancing, and ‘stuck-at-home’ blues than by writing and signing well thought impactful letters and petitions for a safer planet!
Alpine Helicopters will be presenting to the Canmore Council regarding their lease renewal, March 17, 1:00 pm, at the Canmore Civic Centre. Some important things to request our council to consider: How many GHGs per year does Alpine Helicopters emit due to tourism flights versus search and rescue?How many GHGs will their lease renewal allow them to release?How does this incorporate our Climate Emergency Declaration?
The University of Alberta Climate Action coalition has started a petition to Canadian Universities, to sign the United Nations Global Climate Letter. Please click here to learn more.
Our provincial government recently decided to close 164 of our parks. Parks play an important role in mitigating and adapting to climate change. Governments do what they believe their voters want. If you want climate action, let them know:
