2021 Municipal Election

In October 18th, voters in the Bow Valley have the opportunity to elect new municipal governments. Since decisions made on the municipal level have far reaching consequences on local climate action, volunteers used the last couple months to create a list of priorities and engage with candidates running in the Bow Valley municipalities.

Voters are welcome to use the material below to inform themselves about the different environmental platforms and to demand more decisive action on the issues we’re facing in the coming years.

Canmore

For Canmore, BVCA created a list of priorities for the municipal election campaign, highlighting the most important areas where the next council should improve the towns performance. Together with Bow Valley Engage, BVCA also co-hosted a forum on the environment with all candidates.

Banff

For Banff, BVCA sent out a list of questions to candidates to give everyone the possibility of highlighting their platform in regard to climate & environmental action.
